I love, on your website, the detail with which you broke down the correctness of your argument about gold jewelry. If I were into saying things like that, i'd say you pwned, but I'm not, so I won't. By the way, you told me a year ago you were gonna do a video about All About the Beat. Where is it? I wanna hear someone intelligent and eloquent defend hip-hop to McWhorter. I haven't heard anyone I'd expect, like KRS or Chuck D, challenge him.

funny i just saw John McWhorter in my local barnes & noble, he was sitting next to me at a reading by William Julius Wilson.. he left before i had a chance to talk to him tho (not that i'm sure i would have)

I actually enjoy his linguistics books, so I might have mentioned that. Now, William Julius Wilson and John McWhorter, there's a video. I'd watch, favorite, rate, share, mirror and triple comment on that.

yes I feel the same, and what i'd really like is to talk with him about prescriptice vs. descriptive linguistics, especially as they relate to people's judgments of hip-hop slang and usage of words like "conversate" that are dismissed as "not real words" though they are no less functional than any other word..
