I love Kurt Elling. But that lead up to the head was a disaster. He pushed through, though. Great pro.

One of the great integrations of sax and singer I have heard in 40+ years of listening to jazz. I've always loved Kurt Elling's approach to music and his ability to sing lyrics of great ballads in innovative ways, as an instrumentalist might, and communicate the emotional content of the song's story. E Watts is a brilliant soloist, but he doesn't just lay out when Kurt comes in after Ernie's solo, he plays delicate figures under Kurt's vocals. Reminds me of Trane and Johnny Hartman. Beautiful!

C'est magnifique!
Ernie Watts is a legend!
Kurt is the best, his new album "The Gate" is coming out in February.
Kurt is a spiritual cat, he really is connected.

grandissimo!!!!!
If Kurt Elling's voice took the form of a young woman, I'd marry her immediately. Beautiful. And Laurence Hobgood's a marvelous pianist and arranger. (Oh, and you've gotta love Ernie freakin' Watts, man!)
