Actually I think Lelouch loved Shirlry in the show.You can know though he cried for Shirley(Shirley is the only femmale character that Lelouch cried for) and screaming so sadly.But unluckily Shirley died at last.

I agree to - I think he did open his heart to her - he cared for her to the point that he will cry for her, he even make an effort to take revenge for her - and when they kiss the first time he embraced her back. During the school festival - when Shirley asked Lelouch: "It's ok if you're not serious about all this, I understand".... he impulsively said "you're wrong!" meaning he is serious about her. I wish Shirley didnt die too T_T (I hate Rolo for killing her..)

I find it really sad because no matter what people say he obviously cared about her in one way or another. Even if he only saw her as a really dear friend. He never wanted her to get hurt and didnt want her to get envolved because he knew sh would get hurt. Through out R2 he remembered all the people who were taken from him and he cared about each and every one of them. I loved this couple as well and if he never got geass who knows they may have made it. great amv! ^_^

@LoveThisFuckingWorld If you rewatch episode 7 of R2 you will see that he cares for allot more people then just his mother and Nunally. As he decides that his fight isn't just for Nunally anymore as he looks at his friends.
