sound is ok. there's a mic input so you can use a cheap external mic to avoid any sounds of the motor, which is minimal anyway.

i'm having problems uploading to premier pro 1 on vista at the mo but every other software seems to work fine. u need a firewire cable to upload footage.

i bought a firewire with a standard usb at one end and I cant make it work. ruining the camera for me...

you need firewire both ends. USB don't work.

it was a 4pin lead both ends. i think it depends on what input you have on your computer too. i got mine from pc world.
