A rant about the damage done by the Bible, even by the (alleged) sayings of Jesus, and about all the things he DIDN'T say that any divine being filled with love and a desire for the good of humanity SHOULD have said. The words that are attributed to him are mealy mouthed run-of-the mill stuff that did not reveal any insights into the universe or a realistic recipe for happiness. He even illustrated a tacit support for such outrageously disgusting practices as slavery. Of course, everything he says has been made up by someone with a vested interest in perpetuating the myth that he ever existed, and pushing their own agendas. And his words are often so ambiguous that they are easily twisted to suit whoever is using them.

  • Where can I skip to the part of the video where Jesus says "shit"?

  • @CappitranoBellephant Ah - that's in the Gospel of AuntieDiluvian - one of the gospels chucked out by the Council of Nicea. Sorry!

  • I haven't forgotten the indoctrination of education either, *sigh* good times.

  • @TheColaGoodfellow And there's your problem. You have swallowed the bait of religion hook, line and sinker. So did I when I was your age, but eventually I figured out what nonsense it all is, and I am happier now than I ever could have dreamed of being as a young christian haunted by fear of failure and the 'evils' of just being me. I wish you a life of rationality and intelligent free thinking. I believe one day you will toss aside the burden of religion. Take care.

  • @mh4777abc It's all in your head - absolutely.

  • @littleyellowkite Which pat of that is in anyway hypocritical? Do you want me to quote the whole unabridged bible from cover to cover? I'm sure you can look it up yourself.

And yes i'm just quoting one line from one passage; funnily enough that exactly how i found it....on a christian youtube channel.

So i politely suggest you get over yourself :)

  • indoctrination is a part of life. The media indoctrinates children along with you everyday with shit that isn't real. Science indoctrinates you too. And takes singular observations to use for expanded theories not proven real to dictate how we look at things and act. That stories are religious or not, are real or not, does not mean they can't offer your mind something to ponder or way to look at things.

  • Lol. Colagoodfellow, cause and effect is actually...pretty straight forward. I find reality both inspiring and useful. But to each his own, and surely humans will continue to dream up comforting stories to explain reality and I.m sure they will continue to attract a devoted following.

  • @TheColaGoodfellow "Education, maths, science, it's all indoctrination."

Eh, so typical a position and so acceptable to me as I'll need someone to shine my shoes, bus my tables, and drive my cabs. Enjoy!

  • @TheColaGoodfellow "I could give you a mathematic formula for miracles if I thought about it long enough."

I will give you exactly $10,000 USD if you can. I will wait.

  • Ahhh, wonderful ranting, Auntie!

  • Anyone who uses the phrase "*My* God..." and who actually thinks it could be something OUTSIDE of their (tiny) brain, is an arsehole.

    nice vid.

  • Quote by Father Capari: The Beatitude found a principle of living where any person can find harmony in any path of life they may choose to live in so that Light and truth may be their guardian; for the Gates of enlightenment are thorns and passion and to unravel this strangulation ironically is In thy own desires & compassion, hence forth shall we survive in absolute freedom.

  • @TheColaGoodfellow Well that's bull if I ever heard it. Science doesn't *need* to indoctrinate or brainwash. If you don't believe it, go ahead and test it yourself!

I still remember the "miracle" of when my physics teacher mystically passed his hand through a lightbulb. Now that I've passed the course and understand optics, I don't *need* to have faith in the miracle because I know how it works.

You can't give me a math formula for the bible, nor can you try out any of the miracles in it.
