Pauli Pietiläinen is organist of the Church of the Cross in Lahti, Finland.
He is playing the organ manufactured by the organ builder Veikko Virtanen.
Architecture of the church and a facade of the organ are designed by Alvar Aalto, the famous Finnish Architect.
The church is a main performing place during the annual Lahti organ festivals.

What is the name of your translation program?

  • I have an automatic translation programme with google language tools. It changed my english into finnish so you can understand better!

  • Unfortunately those programs are not able to translate into Finnish. Your translation is pig Latin for me. I have to guess. You are trying to say that you like music but you don't like the organ console and the architecture of the church.

  • To me the sound of the music is MOST important..who the hell cares about the fashiion part of it. ..and I have played many different colsoles, styles, period organs......

  • SUPER !

  • I like very much the design of Aalto's church. Also the facade design is very interesting but consolle is really horrible...

Bravo mr. Pietiläinen, he has a good "verve" for play italian operatic music....is very strange to hear Petrali on a finnish organ...

  • Thank´s for your comment!

This is the first Petrali I have played - but definitely not the last!

    Pauli P.

  • very nice playing! my only suggestion for playing more in romantic italian style is to have always some reeds even in the middle episodes, not too extreme registrations changes

  • I like Petrali - bach cyus thinks its from time of decay.

  • Well if you are able to speak English then it is no longer a bloody problem. I dont really care whether it is pig English or not, and yes I find the console rather hideous the church building is also rather unpleasant although the music is very nice
