@Sharne103 Saddle pads were invented to use when a saddle doesn't fit properly so if your saddle fits you don't need one. Most modern riders use one because they have seen them used by other people and assume they are necessary kit but they aren't .

That didn't look so much like a spook to me, that looked like a 'I am in a crappy mood and feel like sharing!' And it's not that rare; my Icey mare bucked off my Mom last fall.

Actually, no! :D Many Icelandic riders don't use saddle pads. Some do, but most don't. I'm surprised you noticed. :D
