We demo the HTC EVO 4G's (Supersonic) ability to stream HD 720p video to an 85-inch TV via its HDMI-out port. The Snapdragon chipset is capable of decoding the video and pushing it out through HDMI with no external help - now that's amazing!

  • @Ru55ianGrim For someone like myself, that travels often, I am able to watch something like netflix or youtube on a bigger screen comes in handy. Beats tugging along a DVD player with my collection or paying for the expensive rentals. So its not so much a necessity for a phone as it is a feature.... thats what separates a smartphone from a standard phone.

  • @cdizzy47 Yeah if you want to pay a shit load of money for apple TV... HDMI output means you can connect to any TV with HDMI input which is on any recent TV these days.

  • Twister are fisting Sampoon again?

  • Hate to say it but new Apple phone allows u to mirror the phone onto tv without a hdmi chord .... Very sad

  • Mine would play either. I use mx player. Only way I got it to work is by rooting my phone downloaded hdmwin. I can play apps and watch downloaded movies on my tv now. U can actually watch YouTube without root from ur hdmi.

  • Look just tell me when

  • I bought a hdmi cable downloaded a few movies from adownloader an it doesnt play on my tv how can I get them to play

  • @bkpadilla true true! And when you root it will be even better! You'll have a 1.2Ghz processor :) and Gingerbread. IT's officially now on my want list :D

  • @dannysauer Audio flows through HDMI, no problem.

  • @guwapo55 Not anymore! It does ride audio through HDMI cable now!
