The Oversight and Government Reform Committee holds a hearing, "Darfur and the Olympics: A Call for International Action." Subcommittee Chairman John Tierney has invited classrooms across the country to watch the hearing. On Tuesday the House passed a resolution introduced by Rep. Barbara Lee calling on the government of the People's Republic of China to use its unique influence and economic leverage to stop genocide and violence in Darfur. Nick Anderson and Ana Slavin, students who co-founded Dollars for Darfur, discuss their work to stop the genocide.

  • @constitutiongirl

That's why Bush Junior and Bush Senior, along with First Lady and Kissinger attended the Opening Ceremonies. Has the US President ever done that for any other country? Only China.

  • @banzaidawan

More like 100 heads of state, include France (Sakozy), Britain (Brown), America (Bush jr. and Bush Sen, Kissinger), Russia (Putin), Japan (Fukuda), Korea (LJ Bak), Brazil (LD Silva), Germany (Schroeder), etc... etc...

  • @AnotherStrangeFroot Both USA and China who are guilty

  • This is nauseating hypocrisy.

Its is British and US mercenaries who are arming the rebels, and rousing them against local tribes. They did the same in southern Sudan in the early 90s.

This is being done because of Darfur's gas and Uranium reserves.

The people of Sudan's western Darfur region are paying the price of greed, like those of Iraq.

While a zionist media blames "nasty Arabs", and now China.

    The tangled web we weave,,,,,

  • Constitutiongirl: You mean the same Congress that approved and backed Bush's invasion of Iraq? Bush Lied, People Died.

  • Constitutiongirl: Congress act? Mr. Guantanamo Bush is going to attend the Beijing Olympics, along with the heads of state of 50 countries, the largest number ever.

Too bad you won't be there...missing out the fun.

  • The Genocide Olympics is London 2012 for IraqNam.

  • America should unequivocally boycott the 2008 Olympics. Congress must act.

  • China has sent troops to Darfur to join the UN peacekeeping mission there. So, where are the American troops? Still stuck in IraqNam, stealing their oil.

  • the blonde girl is hot, i agreed with everything she said n acutally i dont care what she said. dont say anything lets make love and forget about Darfur.
