Have we learned anything from Vietnam?
In Part 10, Gibson points out that we still are incompetent with BS excuses like we didn't fight at full power in Vietnam. Grenada was a struggle when it should have been more efficiently run:

Gibson predicts another military adventure based on self-delusions. The men of conscience who opposed the Vietnam did not stay in the Army. America wants to believe in the hero with a white hat who comes in and rescues situations that authorities cannot solve. Americans don't give a crap about cultures, we want gadgets. TechnoWar cannot create societies and cultures of any value. A stable society requires a culture of virtue, honor and integrity not the $$$. Vietnam Syndrome to not be willing to die as cannon fodder was a good thing but warrior culture is on the rise back through Hollywood movies. Americans realize Vietnam will happen again--read today's headlines from Iraq/Afghanistan.
James William Gibson author of: The Perfect War: Technowar in Vietnam gives the most amazing and enlightening talk ever on the origins and misconduct of the Vietnam war.
