Dr. Thomas Van Flandern - MUFON-LA (1 of 1)

Dr. Tom Van Flandern is an astronomer who has worked steadily as a consultant to NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab for two decades. Dr. Van Flandern also spent 20 years at the U.S. Naval Observatory, where he became the Chief of the Celestial Mechanics Branch. In 1991, he formed a Washington, DC-based organization, called Meta Research whose ideas challenge mainstream theories in Astronomy. Sometimes critical of such sacrosanct scientific theories like the Big Bang, Van Flandern applies his well-researched alternative ideas to the possibility of space travel—and provides groundbreaking new evidence that refutes the claim that ET's just couldnt get here.

Dr. Van Flandern states that due to his and several colleagues research regarding the speed of gravity, "It is highly possible there has been, and currently is extraterrestrial travel." With new evidence which shows the 'speed of gravity' can be over a thousand times faster than the speed of light, Van Flandern has opened a whole new perspective of ufological possibilities.

Tom received his Ph.D. degree in Astronomy, specializing in celestial mechanics, from Yale University in 1969. During the past few years, he has also been a Research Associate at the University of Maryland Physics Department in College Park, MD, and a consultant to the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD, working on improving the accuracy of the Global Positioning System (GPS). During his career as a professional research astronomer, Tom has been honored by a prize from the Gravity Research Foundation; served on the Council of American Astronomical Society's Division on Dynamical Astronomy; taught astronomy at the University of South Florida and to Navy Department employees; hes done several spots for the "Project Universe" series that continue to air on public TV.

Since all stars in the galaxy is orbiting a black hole, and the galaxy also moves fast, our Sun is not still in space, so we should orbit around the position where the Sun was 8.3 minutes ago if gravity was slow as the light.

I think he had a point, and he was absolutely right that we don't understand gravity yet.
