Yes, having an updated blog attached to your main website is excellent for SEO. It also gives you a chance target keywords you would not otherwise be able to tackle on your main website. There are many benefits to running a blog.

  • Alternatively, you can have your blog and website as one and keep them on the same database. Under reading, you will just pick what page you want to be your blog page. So, you could make a page, not post, but a page and name it "Blog". Then under reading, choose "Blog" to be your posts page. If your main website will not change much, then this is the way to go as you can use pages rather than blog posts for your info that will not change much.

  • Just link to each other in the header... Put a link that says "blog" on your website. Design the header menus somewhat identical for more seamless linking. They are separate databases, you don't need to do any kind of special linking. Simply link to each as you see fit.

  • This interesting

  • Thanks for the motivation! I just installed Wordpress and now I'm on my way....

  • and havig an updated blog on your site is good for seo. right?

  • So say that I wanted my blog to be its own page within the website-say my website was poetry.com, and I wanted there to be a page or subdomain on poetry.com, I could do this to make it look like poetry,com/blog and it would automatically be in the website's menu of pages? That way it would just keep people on my website instead of them going to my blog in a new window. Is this what you're doing ? I don't care if my WP looks the same as the website, as long as it's its own page

  • Can this be done on godaddy

  • SURE!!! SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT MY SELF

    THANKS
