Essa música é de quando George começou a demonstrar interesse pela cultura oriental ao descobrir a cítara em 1965. Within you, without you foi a primeira manifestação explícita de seu interesse pela filosofia oriental.
A letra da música é muito boa, ela é baseada no Hinduismo.

Letra:
Within you, without you

We were talking
about the space between us all
And the people who hide themselves
behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth
then it's far too late
when they pass away

We were talking
about the love we all could share
When we find it
- to try our best to hold it there -
with our love
With our love we could save the world
if they only knew
Try to realise
it's all within yourself
no-one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small
And life flows on
within you and without you.

We were talking
about the love that's gone so cold
And the people who gain the world
and lose their soul
They don't know,
they can't see
- are you one of them?
When you've seen
beyond yourself
then you may find
peace of mind is waiting there
And the time will come
when you see we're all one
And life flows on
within you and without you.

  • Ganham o mundo e perdem a alma. Gain the world and loose your soul..Or is it who those have ganham o mundo whove done so in such a way that they ended up lperdem-ing a alma? What does ganham o mundo mean? Is perdem a alma a necessary consequence of ganham o mundo? Depends upon what ganham o mundo means.

  • Separated from that quote from the book "Thus spoke Zarathustra" of Nietzsche (and I am enjoying very) I believe

contains the meaning of the term "gain the world" is not to "gain the world" is evil,

but either you build your world "Interior" or build your world "Exterior."

"There are many things to the heavy spirit strong, solid and respectable,

the strength of this spirit is crying out for heavy things, and heavier.

    What is the heaviest heroes?

  • What is the heaviest heroes?-Question the spirit strong.

Will not to demote us suffer for our pride?

Let it shine for our madness mockery of our wisdom?

Or in separated us from our cause when it celebrates its victory?

"The spirit is strong burdens of heavy things, and like the camel

that is loaded in the desert, so he runs his Desert. In the desert more solitary, but

the transformation occurs: the spirit becomes a lion, or gain the freedom and be lord

in their own desert ... "

  • So what do you think?

PS: Sorry my mistakes in the translation from Portuguese into English.

  • Sorry. When I looked up a Portugese dictionary None of the words in the comment below showed up, so I wondered whether it was pseudo-Portugese. So I gave a Basque quote to mystify. Now my online dictionary has the words, to excuse my cuteness. Obrigado.

  • Hahahah

Okay, i speak portuguese, and a little english, i'm learning , so I preferred to write in Portuguese. I said in earlier comment that I liked many of your comments.

    Thank you

  • O espaso entree todos nos. Heideggarian Mitsein. That espaso ist was? It is nothingness, pue and simple.

  • tHSI SON GIS ABOUT THEOLOGIVAL CA RITAS

  • Get off your asses, Nietzschean scholarship!

  • The bad news (the dysevangelium) is that folks are into reading and hearing. And the first thing anyone can read or hear is, as a matter of fact, surface test. Nietzsche should have known this. Instead his surface text killed millions of people. Nietzsche as a thinker is (I think he would agree) responsible for this. The best one can do for Nietzsche is attenuate. And pay careful attention to how things are said. Nietzsche was also a shockjock.

  • The rarefied atmosphere of nietzschean Thought is a heady place and feel. the thoughts or logia (dicta or sayings or utterance) that prints out of this atmosphere will, I believe, in the final analysis (and there is no Final Analysis) be consistent and compatible and understood by us all, no matter where we are now. That is the good news.

  • Com nosso amor poderiamos salvar o mundo--apenas eles soubessem. Analyzing a lyric is taking the lyric out of the context of the music. George Harrison's lyric is in the context of his music. As such, it is spot on. That asserted, I would say that the apenas se eles soubessem is not the point. If the soubessem were up to the apenas, they would soubessem would either happen or never happen. I believe it is up to the knowing to make this happen. Any failure is their's ( knowers).
