  • It really surprises me that your friend was amazed by how much American food seems to taste like it has sugar in it.

I have been living in Japan for over a year, and I can say with absolute certainty that Japanese people love sugar. "Sukiyaki, Miso Katsu, Oyakodon, Gyudon, etc". Every time I think of a Japanese dish, half of the meals that come to mind use a certain amount if not a significant amount of sugar and soy sauce..

What you are describing sound more like a Southern Asian diet to me.

  • Hey, if you wanna live longer, go right ahead. When i'm dead and smiling in happiness from eating the foods i like, and you are still alive and kicking eating the foods you like... Well, you wont miss me cause i was an unhealthy eater, and i wont miss you because I'm dead and ate what i wanted.

  • Easy don't eat fastfood, canned food, or Frozen food

  • @CreateYourWorld1111 You mean "you're?" You know, "you are?" Learn to spell, then i might take you seriously.

  • @PaintingHeartsBlack sorry but not me LOL (after tsunami, No Way).

  • ok so who wants to move to japan with me?

  • @PsychologicalCynic youre retarded.

  • ...I WANNA SAY LOL!!...but is that mean?

  • Better education is the answer. I grew up an obese child and then an obese teen at 250 lbs. I now weigh 135 through exercise and eating much more vegetables than I ever incorporated in my diet. While I knew vaguely consuming less calories meant being healthier it wasn't till I did my own research that I learned how to do it. We need nutrition education in schools because many parent in America do not have the education about nutrition to teach their kids how to steer clear of chronic diseases.

  • One issue we're overlooking is that most Japanese food is made from scratch, which controls the amount of sugar, fat, and salt going into a dish. The U.S. relies very heavily on processed, prepared foods in our diets. Many of the companies tend to use corn product fillers, sugars, and oils that are hidden in the prep process. Go to your pantry and check out the labels on, say, spaghetti sauce. Lower reliance on prepared foods may be Japan's secret!

  • Probably another factor is their hard working.

Brain Cells and Physical Activity Combined.
