Activision's manuals just suck ass. My 360 came with that LEGO Indiana Jones/Kung Fu Panda double pack, and the difference in manual quality between both was huge. LEGO Indy had a rather heavy manual, in full color, with lots of info. Kung Fu Panda, however, was just like the MW3 manual. Hell, COD4's manual was the same kind of shit!
If you really want awesome packaging, look no further than Rockstar. Their manuals just SCREAM awesomeness.
Feel free to think of me as a total dissenting douchebag, but I felt that you were way too harsh on the Modern Warfare 3 art. I thought the color scheme was very appropriate for their "Gritty Realism" aesthetic, the soldier is cropped as to challenge the white space very well, and "MW3" was centered, and in green, the only bit of color in the entire picture creating a very clear focal point for the entire piece.
But the manual is totally disappointing, and I have yet to play the game, myself.
Quite amusing, Chef! Glad to see you again after so long! The vlog style is not my particular style, BUT your attitude makes it worth listening to at least.
Your video makes me think about the new "digital revolution" that all companies are trying to move to. There's just something to say about holding that game in your hand, putting the box on a shelf. It's a piece of art, and Activision dumped all over what is arguably the most loyal fanbase of any generation this side of Mario. I know nothing about the game, but as far as art, that's a poor excuse for art.
