One of my favorite scenes in the movie Requiem for A Dream where Harry, Ty, and Marion begin their early success in selling heroin.

  • @AmyMessiahz on the film soundtrack its called Crimin' and Dealin'. it doesnt the cha-ching or tyrone saying naturally though

  • honestly who fucking cares if its coke or heroin.... i made this tribute 3 years ago when i didnt know shit about anything. The point of this is to realize this movie is fucking sweet.

  • @dylanwhitsell They could be doing that, lol. The nature of this movie leaves a good amount to interpretation

  • @GriffinLikesMusic And I said that sure, maybe the author did write it one way, however, the movie takes place in a time period where it is completely possible to heat heroin on a spoon. And the movie is what we're talking about, not the book. If I wanted to stretch things as much as you, I could go as far as to say that it's common to lace joints with heroin as well, so they could be smoking that when they're doing other drugs. You never know.

  • @dylanwhitsell I didn't say it took place in the 70's? I said it was written then, so why would the author write it that way? There is no way to tell if it is heroin or not.

  • @GriffinLikesMusic Now you're just stretching; give it up. There is such thing as creative liberty. You can't tell me every movie adaptation you've seen has been 100% true to the story. Not even close. Does this movie take place in the 1970s, despite the book being set then? No. Case in point.

  • @dylanwhitsell Also, this book was written in the 1970s when snorting heroin was virtually unheard of. Therefore, it is almost 100% certain that they were insufflating cocaine and not heroin.

  • @dylanwhitsell Yes, but the method they use for the is the flame, spoon, and cotton method (syringe) versus the snorting they show later in the movie. The fact that the also take amphetamines to "waste time" and marijuana under the boardwalk is indicative of the fact that they use multiple drugs throughout the movie. When dealing with heroin they limit it to injecting.

  • @GriffinLikesMusic I'm sorry, but the drug you see on screen being dealt is heroin. Marion gets her drugs from them. Where the heck is she getting cocaine from? Where does the movie ever allude that she's buying cocaine on the side? I've looked at IMDB and other websites for kicks, and every one of them talks about heroin, not cocaine. Just cause it's a white powder, doesn't make it cocaine.

  • @dylanwhitsell No, does it say Marion specifically uses heroin when snorting? I have read up on many reviews an synopsis's of this movie. I actually think one on IMDB talks about Marion's cocaine use.
