Highlights from the 2008 Motegi Street Shoot Out Round 4 finals, held at Twin Ring Motegi in Tochigi, Japan on Sunday, December 7, 2008.
This is a 1,000-foot strip, with the fastest cars running in the 7.8s today. There were plenty of smokin' fast domestic Japanese cars running too (lots of cars in the 8s!), but since I'm a fan of good ol' Detroit Muscle (Mopar, in particular!), that's all I shot today.
Special thanks to drivers Fukushima-san, Sato-san, and Yamao-san for taking the time to talk Mopar with me that Sunday!
Yeah, I see what you mean...the staging lights were a bit tricky that day...to the extent that the right lane occasionally showed "staged" with no car there at all!
But, as they say, "that's racing!"
Then again, the El Camino could've staged really shallow, using that wee bit of rollout room to his advantage on the launch...tough call, but from the video it does indeed seem that the El Camino should've gotten a red light on that run.
