Based on an arrangement for guitar by Stanley Yates and played by me, Samantha Muir. Photos by Josie Elias. I don't know why but Bach's music always makes me think of mountains - grand, majestic, spacious, misshapen. And so when I was putting this video together I decided to use images taken by my friend Josie during many of the mountain walks we have done together in the Marina Alta district of the Costa Blanca, Spain. The mountains here are really spectacular! I hope you enjoy it!

  • It would be interesting to know how strictly you follow Yate´s arr.I am in possesion of his book with Mel Bay,six unaccopanied suites...etc.Wish I could play with this flow, but mostly your sound is just wonderful, maybe a little because it´s in a church.

  • Hi pracpig! I like the Yates edition very much but I play bars 33 and 34 according to the Urtext Edition of the Cello Suites ie/ Bar 33 I play a C as the 2nd note and Bar 34 I play a B as the 2nd note. And the church certainly helped bring out the best in the guitar! Thanks and best wishes, Sam.
