Detroit 2010: Volkswagen New Compact Coupe concept

The latest that debuts here at the Detroit Auto Show this morning is called the New Compact Coupe (NCC), a handsome hybrid coupe that looks remarkably production-ready. Designed to slot globally between the not-for-North-America Scirocco and the rakish CC, we could see a serial version of the NCC competing well here in the States with coupes like the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima.

@policeman1313 In the past, Volkswagen has always made the GLI and GTI versions of their cars no different from the consumer versions (Body wise) so I suspect that the GLI coming next spring will just be a 2011 Jetta only with slight bumper adjustments to the front and rear, 2.0T engine and maybe Bi-Xenon headlamps, smoked rear lights (like the NCC) and larger sportier wheels. Other than that, nothing too cosmetic will be changing I figure. So my Answer to your Question is No. But who knows...

@policeman1313 I'll tell you why. Mostly because of the 2 doors yes. I'm a salesman at the Volkswagen Dealer here where I live and I notice (From working with the 2011 Jetta all day) The trunk is shorter on this car giving it a sportier look. This one is also lower and has chrome strips and larger wheels. All in all, this is a concept show car. Built to look more appealing. the 2011 Jetta is a fine car just built more for people. It's a workhorse where the NCC is a Concept Hybrid Sports Coupe.

The new Jetta was ment to look like an A4. And what the fuck? Electric ... who has the money to buy one of those and then the money to spend on electricity to charge that each day? Let's not forget that the batteries need to be replaced every like 5 years, those cost a fortune....
