"Anonymous Tip Line/Youth Engagement/YouTube/Facebook/Cash For Guns"

January is Crime Stoppers month worldwide. This video depicts a piece of graffiti art done by graffiti artist 'Soren' at the Toronto Crime Stoppers annual fundraising dinner in 2007. The piece of art speaks in different, non-traditional ways to the youth and citizens of Toronto. The citizen in the video is at a summer event in Toronto, and explains what the art piece means to him. The event was the Bloor BIA event where a booth for CommunityCAVE.com and Toronto Crime sToppers was donated by local real estate agent Neil Wright of the Harbord BIA to showcase the talents of youth artists out front of Honest Ed's in downtown Toronto.

For the press conference January 8, 2008, proclamations were sent to Toronto Crime SToppers from the Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty and Toronto Mayor David Miller, all congratulating the partnership of the community/police/media for the work done to promote the safety of the community.

Numerous youth attended the press conference at Toronto Police Service Headquarters January 8, 2008. An announcement was made that Toronto Crime SToppers had received more anonymous tips to assist police prevent and solve crimes in 2007 than in any single year since the program was started in Toronto in 1984.

Thank you to the community, the police and the media for believing in Crime Stoppers. Let's carry on building a safe and prosperous community.

  • You can't stop crime if you continue to import it. Almost all of Canada's murder crime has been imported, what a stupid government you have in Canada.
