I am a newcastle utd supporter so it was sad to see owen leave, but was inevitable after we were relegated.... but my point i wish to make is (to be unbiased) if anyone is going to get owen playing anywhere near as well as he did at 18, and instill his confidence in front of goal it will be sir alex and manchester utd.

I've always liked Owen. The guy has a natural flair some people will never get from coaching. Ferguson knows this, his move to United was the safest bet Ferguson ever made. A predator picks up the scent when re-introduced to the wild.

@pukelerry1 Regarding why Argentina center backs were so deep (Great question dude): Owen was so exciting, pacey and electric in that world cup. Argentina absolutely bricked it everytime he was on the ball, and feared he would get in behind them - so dropped incredibly deep. Owen was a good goalscorer over his career, but its hard to convey how exciting and dangerous he was when he came through. I guess injuries later slowed him down. Terrible shame.
