Somewhere - Some-when - perhaps in an obscure alternate universe, there may be a genre or a song Chet Atkins could not play. But don't count on it !!

My favourite musical instrument is the guitar and no one and I say again no one played this tune on the guitar as good as Chet Atkins.
He sound engineered marvelously and I really love listening to the echo reverb sound that he had put in . It was very haunting.
A man like him comes around once in a very long while.

I've loved Chet since I was wee nipper, know nowt about guitars, but I love everything he does. The man can't twang a string wrong!

Back in 1961 the Percy Faith version of this was my favorite song of all time. Ironically, the first album I ever heard Chet Atkins play was the "Workshop" album. This song, along with Lambeth Walk, Whispering and Hot Mocking Bird left me in absolute awe. I've been a die hard Chet fan ever since, and the Chet version of Theme From A Summer Place is my absolute favorite song of all time.

@DUGGER1947 I have an unreleased (alternate) recording of him playing the tune that I would like to post someday. it is quite different than the released version.

@daffydoug Love to hear it if you post it. I love comparing the different versions of his songs -- like the different versions of the songs from his Chet Atkins in Hollywood album.

@DUGGER1947 I'll try to get to it sometime. Right now my motherboard in my PC seems to be going out and sometimes I can only stay online for a few seconds before my PC shuts itself off. Exasperating!!!
Anyway, I think the unreleased versions are fascinating too. In most cases i see why Chet released the version that he did, because most times the released version is far superior to the unreleased. But still they're fascinating for their historical aspect. it's STILL all Chet!!
