How To Root The MyTouch 3G And Load A Rom On It - Part 1

If Your MyTouch 3G Came With 1.6 This will not work so DO NOT attempt this.

We show you how to load a ROM on your MyTouch3G smartphone. This is a step by step guide on how to start with Android 1.5 and then end up with the Hero ROM 1.6 on your MyTouch.

You aren't very specific in this video because you say if your phone came with 1.6 ALREADY on the phone DON'T root well what if my phone came with 1.5 but currently has 1.6?!?! Please be more clear

@allanahjade25 If your phone came with 1.5 and you have upgraded that is fine and this should work for you. If it came with 1.6 on it when you got it, then you will not be able to use this specific method. Hope that helps.

@maxpain0007 Then that would mean your phone had to originally have 1.5 when u first bought it then u upgraded to 1.6, then rooted it back to the orginial 1.5? Then yes this will work. When you try rooting your phone and it only goes back to 1.6 then no you can't do this.

@zollotech if i do this with 1.5, can i upgrade 2.2.1 or does that depend on the ROM? will it affect the root if i upgrade the OS after rooting?
