That's a great video. I have a J24 myself in Illinois. I had to learn to solo sail myself. 1/2 the time people couldn't make it out to the lake and I found myself alone. So I just decided I could sail it myself. I even ran a few races solo and placed to boot. I know what all you have to go thru to sail that by yourself. And you managed to video it too. Great work. Maybe I'll post a video of my on on here soon.

The big trouble comes when you have to douse both sails to grab your buoy without taking it sailing with you. I usually douse one at a time and place the boat so that the wind gently takes me to the buoy.

Besides the jokes about the big waves and the impossible cruise speed in the video, it helps a lot to have a deck block for the jib halyard, so you can pull it from the stern without leaving the tiller while sailing with main. Other device that helps a lot is a Lopez block for the jib sheets, so that you can tack standing up with one hand on the tiller extension and use the other for pulling up and clamping the sheet.
