A Filmnoir Spoof of the Sam Spade/Casablanca like Black and White Detective Genre.
Watch and learn more about Ace Clubs, Private Eye.

This was concepted, written, storyboarded, casted, filmed, edited, and turned into a final production in just four days at a summer UCLA Digital Film Course for teens.
I did most of the editing and some Cinematography.

  • It's Dave!!! haha, i went to that camp last year. very funny video.

  • Haha. Yeah, thanks. It was an amazing camp. I had such an amazing time there.

  • Yup. I took beginner Digital Film. If your looking at it, definitely do it at UCLA. Amazing people there that can help you do amazing things. Duane Del'Amico was a great teacher.

  • wow. thanks man.

  • No problem. I met so many friends there and as I said, the staff was great. Its an investment really. I still frequently keep in contact with my teacher there Duane. He helps me out with advice regarding the industry and decisions on what I need to do if I want to get into film. It becomes what you put into it.

  • Nicely done. For a spoof, I think it was a good one considering you did all that in 4 days. I thought that the arrangement of lights and the lighting in general was much like what they used to have in the old black and white movies. I think that you can actually turn this into a regular film noir instead of a spoof, if that ever crosses your mind. Are you a student or something at the UCLA film school?

  • Thank you for your thoughts and compliments on our film. Im actually not a student there. Believe it or not the film was produced by a group of four of us, none over the age of 16 (the four guys you see durng the interrogation montage). We were just a group at a 4 day UCLA film camp randomly assigned to each other and we all just happened to get along great and have amazing collaborative skills and creativity. Thanks again for your compliments. We all hope to have a good future in film.

  • I'm thinking about beginner digital film, (I went for screenwriting last year), is that what you took or were you in advanced?

  • I don't know what you mean...its exactly how it was produced. Its meant to be a parody.

The only things that have been changed are peoples names to protect them.

  • Censur? Or why you didn't show the action scenes?
