Where did the Universe come from?

The Big Bang describes what happens after the universe came into existence, but where did it actually come from?

Is there any theory as to what is "outside" the expanding universe? It must be expanding into something else. What's on the other side? I know there is no answer, but any thoughts on this?

@mr2177 We can never know what is outside the universe as we cannot get outside to take a look. My guess would be an infinite nothingness, but it is just a guess.

@dan1986ist Nobody knows. We can only work out what happened after the Big Bang, what happened before, what started it, can only be guess work.

My theory is that nothingness has created everything as nothingness has always been there and that nothingness or space or vaccume or is eternal. nobody needs to create the void "vaccume" and i think the vaccume contains energy and the energy was converted into mass. the nothingness is eternal and it has been there and it creates universes all the time. the universes have their own phases in which each universe is converted in energy and then into mass in billions years and this is forever

Each of us have a 100 billion neurons ..and we still can't work it out ! As the chap said "its impossible for us to be here"..so maybe the only logical conclusion is that WE aern't here ! And you know what,thats as good as any other theory ! The conundrum is just too much for us. What we need is another 100 billion neurons and then try again.

@mr2177,if you look at the ideas of many of the famous cosmologists,like Michio Kaku and Stephen Hawking,you will find that many of them believe that there is a 10 dimensional multiverse or megaverse that is expanding and constantly creating new universes outside our own. These ideas rely on string and M theory,and many people believe that each universe is formed on the "other side" of a black hole. There is much controversy however,and we may never know for sure what is outside the universe.

@keithmayes MY THEORY THAT time repeats itself after a massive amount of years. MY second theory is that the people who lived before us were so axious of knowing what created them that they made what people today call the Big Bang

Personally, I think the keyword is TIME. Time is the reason for anything that has happen, and that will happen. I guess my question is why was TIME important to create?

this is the most difficult topic to debate.....i just recently commented another video the reasons why i believe in a creator or what ppl would call god existed... i said that the universe would have come from somethin & that something cant possibly come from nothing...i then got a reply from anther individual saying "you are assuming the universe "came to be" we have no evidence that it ever was not"

its very mind boggling!!
