In 1999 at the age of twenty-four Tony Hsieh sold LinkExchange, the company he co founded, to Microsoft for $265 million. He later became CEO of the company Zappos. He helped the company grow from almost nothing to over $1 billion gross merchandise sales annually. In addition Zappos was listed in Fortune magazines annual "Best Companies to work for. His new book Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose is ranked number one on The New York Times Bestseller List, as well as the Wall Street Journal Bestseller List. Recently he spoke about his book at the Commonwealth Club and was also interviewed by us.
I guess Tony isn't really a smiling, jokey kind of guy. He's pretty serious.
