In the collection of 35 songs of our phonograph Lioret there are several national songs, such as God Save the Queen, the Marseillaise and the Hymne Allemand. All recorded around 1897. The Hymne Allemand was the imperial hymne from 1871 to 1918. The melody was based on the British "God save the queen".
eep....weak spring? Does it not get wound fully to protect from possible spring breakage?

This isn't "God save the Queen"! It's the melody of "Die Wacht am Rhein".

Wow! This is a very nice Lioret! It sounds very nice. Lioret was the very first to make celluoid recordings. They actually made a bottle of special oil to put on the record surface to make it sound better but this one sounds very good. I have only seen pictures of the Lioret. Where did you get this?
Thanks
