This is part of my entry for this years AUDW comp. This song Chewing Bees, has been a work in progress for such a long time. I'm recording the drum tracks this monday, so I will do some filming in the studio and post some of that.

This is not at tempo and it's pretty sloppy. Especially the feet. So I'm still working on it. This is also the first part. So when it's all done in a little bit I will post more. But for now, Enjoy.

  • So, when you say that this is a work in progress, do you mean that it's your composition or that you're learning someone else's work? Either way, it looks pretty complicated- I'm impressed by the amount of work you put into this- the layering of many tracks not to mention counting all that off from memory. Coolness.

Random fact? If you google your name and "AUDW competition" you're the first person that comes up. I, however, am several different criminals in the US. So, no trips there for me.

  • This song is composed by Luke Bacci and myself. Most of the riffs, excluding the main theme were written together. Form arrangement is done together. And all the drum parts I wrote. Luke wrote the main theme and all the harmony etc and it's arrangement.

This will be film music for an animation... So it takes forever to get it happening. But the drums are being recorded on monday.. so that's exciting.

  • Wow, good luck. Music for film sounds like a good way for a musician to earn a living. By the way, saw your video where you briefly mentioned Canadian vs. US accents. Cute. All you have to know is that Can. English is still influenced by the UK, so the oft referred to "about" is actually very similar to the Irish accented way, when it occurs at all. Many Canadians have no Irish heritage and are confused by what they see as a stereotype. For me, movies from Ireland sometimes sound like home.Cheers.
