@christophe2k9 The manufacturing industry is small in Britain anyway. And if you've any care for the lives of those around the world, it's largely EU protectionist trade that is keeping African countries in eternal poverty! Also, do you truly fail to see that a common currency and agricultural policy etc, is utterly doomed in Europe where circumstances differ massively between e.g. Britain and Poland? Arable farming vs peasant farming, economy based on finance vs economy based on agriculture.

@christophe2k9 Yet despite being in the EU, we still somehow manage to make a trade deficit through our trade with it yet a trade surplus with the rest of the world! Think of Norway. Manufacturing there is more expensive than it is here, yet they have an incredibly high standard of living! It's not just about the trading of goods; it's about the offer of services, whose prices are not set by borders. The bureaucracy of the EU is strangling British trade anyway, with over-regulation. euro=screwed

@PureJockPureBrit If you think that a country in the EU is going to buy the more expensive product you don't know what your talking about.Lets say a tire is made in England and one in France,lets assume the hypothesis that Britain leave the EU,that means that the tire,if sold to a country in the EU,now has an increase tax on it because the country buying it has to pay extra because its not an EU product,they'll pay for the cheaper French tire.On a large scale like millions this has an effect.
