The MSG / Aspertame problem is serious. My wife had symptoms of MSG poisoning before she died and the doctors didn't say anything about it. She was using Equals in her tea.

They put stuff in dog and cat food to make them eat more too. Then the skunks, oppossums, rats, and raccoons all get addicted to it too.

@ALBIONTYKE But it comes as no surprise when you notice the links between the FSA and a powerful GM lobbying organisation, the Agricultural Biotechnology Council, where earlier this year they helped draft a key government report with the FSA, heavily favouring the arguments of the GM food industry. Emails between the FSA and the Agricultural Biotechnology Council (ABC) show the council inserted key sentences strengthening the case for GM food that ended up in the final report. PURE CORRUPTION

And this only looked at the neurologica effects of MSG, there are many other extremely harmful side effects of MSG. So the EFSA and the FSA in Britain know of the dangers but still wont ban it.

@ALBIONTYKE I just read the European Food Safety Authoritys report ON TOXICITY OF CHEMICALS IN FOOD.
"There was significant destruction of neurones in the arcuate nucleus and ventromedial nucleus of the hypothalamus exhibiting cytoplasmic swelling, nuclear pyknosis and a reduction in the number of neurones. MSG treatment affected the amount of 3H-glutamate binding in the hypothalamus and hippocampus of the mice."

@ALBIONTYKE I was wrong it is still legal. I remember they were going to ban it in the 70s but obviously ( surprise surprise) they had second thoughts.

MSG has been illegal for over 30 years in the UK or at least thats what I thought !
