These newer blue display ones are very poor quality according to retailers due to very poor manufacture and build. I have a MK1 version with the red display and its the doggies round bits! Good video.

@TRANSAM19777 why do you want to increase the output power? if you want to push your signal out that bit further just get yourself a little 100watt am/fm 200wattssb burner &let that do the donkey work. the rm kl 203 is a great little amp &at about £45ish it isn't going to break the bank. i use one of them with my 3900 &when i dx with a 1/4 wave tank whip from a very high location i've got into north &south america &oz all 5+9 from a £200 set up, what more can you ask?

Anyone know how to disconnect the roger beep that is continuously on?

I have one of these radios but has the red leds in it from 1998, cost €100 but probably the best radio i ever had, solid thing especially with the skip at the moment spain, france germany poland sweeden italy all come in brilliant on usb with the fine tuning on 555, but can anyone tell me how do i increase the power out of the radio, any help would be appreciated so long as it doesn't kill it. 73's from the Bandit Waterford. IRL

well said mate i too have the original 3900 with the red display and the EPT360014B chassis and have been told it's the way the original cobra 148 gtl-dx SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
