Air Methods (previously Omniflight) Charleston (previously MEDUCARE Air) lifts off from the Medical University of South Carolina(MUSC) rooftop helipad in Charleston with a patient being transferred from the MUSC Trauma Center to Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, Georgia for specialty care.

The BK 117(B1) helicopter shown in the video is the reserve helicopter from Omniflight for the Charleston operation. Operating in 16 states in association with over 30 major medical centers Omniflight Helicopters is one of the oldest and largest providers of air medical services in the United States. It was purchased by Air Methods in 2011.

  • The pad is large enough to comfortably fit 2 helicopters, but 3 can be fit on if need be. A lot of caution has to be used if three are there at the same time.
