CELSIUS III live by Dreamhub

CELSIUS I-III contains the three pieces specially composed by me for the ecumenical worship service held at the Cathedral of Copenhagen the 13th of december during the climate conference COP15. It was the first performance of the pieces.

CELSIUS III was performed after the sermon by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams at the Ecumenical Worship Service under COP15 in Copenhagen, the 13th of december 2009.

The theme for this piece is earth, ice and stone. You can hear sounds of greenlandic stones, crackling ice, wood cracking and parts of icebergs falling into the water.

The purpose of this track was for me to give a sense of the beauty of what we have - and that the earth is suffering under our behavior. How close we are to loose it all - if we do not take action now.

I'm using the Manta controller from Snyderphonics to control Ableton Live on a Mac (hidden under the black blanket). It has an array of touch sensitive hexagons which act as controllers for note-ons, velocity and triggers of one shot samples. You see me shortly in the beginning and you will also see some of the great visuals (done by obscura.dk) which accompanied the reading and my music.

By the way: Dreamhub is the name of the chillout/ambient/electronica-project of Copenhagen-based composer and designer Kim Pedersen - which is me ;-)
