  • Fair play to your friend, my neighbour has one these record players but it might

need a little attention. Just saw it today, I told him that he had a nice item there.

  • Thanks, it's a beautiful machine, I want one so much. 3 way built-in stereo, amazing! Radioianj, this is a transistor amp player, not valve.

  • Just to clarify. They came out in 1964, my dad bought one - I've still got it and the orginal receipt and they sounded better with the lid shut. They are transistorised - the precursor, the black box was valve - and used the whole box as to enhance the bass and the bass speakers were wired in series, like a super woofer system is today. Much the same technology as the Bose systems use. You've got the modern legs - ie got the queen anne one - very rare! Enjoy it!

  • hooow! that thing is very nice you have a very good friend :D

  • That's A BEAUTIFUL PLAYER! With A Classic Tune, Johnny Cash Sounds Awesome On These Vintage Players Too. Like Yourself I'm A BIG VINYL LOVER! And Those Classic Tunes Are Totally Magic, Those Players Are Pretty Hard To Find In That Condition, They Were Very Expensive When New, Around 72 Guineas In Old Money. You Are So Right Good Friends Should Be Looked After.

  • How does it go "I didn't go to work told the boss he's a prick".

    Classic bit of kit.

  • What a great PYE Achoic stereo record player!

Pye introduced the first stereo records in the UK, and this was Pyes top-flight highly specified valve player to listen to them on. These are very well regarded today, and very sought after.

  • it's nice to see you so pleased with your record player-i know how passionate about it you are. enjoy it!
