Raceway Park - Blue Island, IL. Live on TV Late Model Trophy Dash

Back in 1982 the new sports cable channel in the Chicago area was Sportsvision. They broadcast live sports every night. Here is footage from the night they showed racing from Raceway Park which was located in Blue Island, IL. I'm posting the Late Model Trophy Dash from that evening. Fastest 8 cars for 12 laps. Drivers include Jim Weltmeyer, Pat Echlin, Wayne Para, Tom Nielsen, Frank Gawlinski, Greg Guzzo, Barb Boask and Don Verkinder.

I wonder whatever happened to Wayne Para ... he was a front runner at all the paved tracks around Chicago... I know his son started driving some and I never heard anything after that

It was billed as a 1/4 mile, if measured around the outside wall. Track record for Late Models was 11.191 seconds.
