Well Zenyatta Raced vs Switch, Zardana and St.Trinians. All G2 Winners. BUT it stops there. Racing vs only Filly's, and Mares all year in 5 horse Stakes races is not much of a Campaign for HOTY. Blame beat some nice horses Like Quality Road, Musketman, Haynesfield, and ZENYATTA. All are G1 Winners.  If that is a weak arguement, then Winning the Classic, whitney, Stephen Foster, and the Schaefer (G2) in multiple states, and tracks is much more impressive then restricted filly's at Hollywood !.

@italianbro1234 ...Zenyatta doesn't deserve HOTY because of the way they campaigned her. Not her fault. People and media are way to quick to jump on horses. I mean last year Quality Road was an afterthought yet after his first start this year he is the new "horse" then he loses to Blame and then Lookin at Lucky wins a couple and becomes the "horse". Blame raced better events and won the finale. Zenyatta looked to go by but when Blame saw her he took off again. She didn't want to go by him.

No no no Rachel Alexandra earned the horse of the year title in 2009, zenyatta didnt win the preakness, haskell, woodward, kentucky oaks by 20 1/4 lengths.... But if u look at the stats in 2010 i believe that Zenyatta should be the horse of the year, for one do you really consider blame as really defeating zenyatta in the classic. I mean if the finish post was where it is at santa anita Zenyatta would have won... I mean in 2010 Zenyatta only lost 1 race out of all grade 1 races, and how many di

One thing people forget about horses like Zenyatta, Hallowed Dreams and Pepper'

s Pride is that no matter who they raced against they still had to show up and win every day. On an off day you can lose to anyone. Now the debate for HOTY is ridiculous. Blame had the better campaign and won the classic and beating Quality Road in his prime. Zee lost classic, raced against restricted females. Blame is the obvious choice for horse of the year although Goldikova did more.
