One of the most beautiful songs in the World.

He's sending stones skimming and flying
Circles spinning out his time
Though the earth is dying his head is in the stars
Chances are this spark's a lifetime

Out of touch he'll live in wonder
Won't lose sleep he'll just pretend
In his world he won't go under
Turns without him until the end

Rivers run dry but there's no line on his brow
Says he doesn't care who's saved
It's just the dice you roll, the here and now
And he's not guilty or afraid

One day he'll slip away
Cool water flowing all around
In the river and on the ground
Leave a pocketful of stones and not believe in other lives

Until then he'll live in wonder
He won't fight or comprehend
In his world he won't go under
Turns without him until the end

  • It seems the 'Remember that Night' performance at the Royal Albert Hall has better lyrics from David. The studio versions' vocals are strangely weak.

  • You are right, David and the band are better live than on the studio records. Thanks for the comment!

  • About the background image... as I was thinking about this song, I imagined an endless plain, where I could be really free.

  • Ah, finally someone uploaded it, thanks man. You're right, it is one of the most beautiful songs in the world... like everything else from David Gilmour.

  • I dunno, man...I think I could too.

  • Why is this recommended to Lamb of god videos?

  • @gogolefler I listen to the same spot, that, and from the guitar solo until the eerie sounding ending. It's like I've heard this song before, in another life, or I was meant to hear it. It just belongs here. :)

  • Masterpiece!

  • beautiful

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song but for some reason I keep listening to 1:57 to 2:17. I dont know why but it sounds way beautiful to me.

  • What a strangely beautiful song, does anybody know what is going on musically?

  • David Gilmour is a god, really; his voice drives me crazy (like a diamond ;) )
