@fuckingkimura Wearing gloves while fighting using Kung Fu in general doesnt help at all... if a true fight against a Kung Fu master would be arranged allowing them to use EVERY SINGLE technique they know... perhaps y'all be surprised. Hand techniques are great in number and finger positions are important to get a good result, with gloves?? no way they can be used, and even blocking is affected.
There is no such thing as one art being better than the other.each art has individual properties that make it special.lets not judge each others life style.i've dedicated most of my spair time to wing chun kung fu an when someone tells me that it is an inferior art it's not an insult it's them judging something they know nothing about
@fuckingkimura martial arts are for the improvement of ones self and not for making a name for ones self. people used to learn martial arts to defend ones self against "bad people"; now it's all about fighting in a ring. kung fu is NOT for that!!!! but if need be a kung fu fighter could mix it up with the best of MMA. DON'T JUST JUDGE THE FORMS AS THE WHOLE ART! that is just practice, it's like reading the dictionary. not just a dance.
You know, crazy enough, about 100 years ago, westerners claimed that Chinese Martial Arts were inferior as well, they were all proven wrong with the famous Lei Tai matches by masters such as Huo Yuan Jia, there's a reason why Kung Fu has survived for centuries, MMA is a magnificent sport don't get me wrong, but I would personally prefer to learn as much as one style can teach me rather than taking bits and pieces from other styles and mashing them together
@TheMartialartsJedi No art is the best, but its becoming a well known fact that most Kung Fu guys nowadays can NOT fight. When is the last time a Kung Fu practicioner accomplish something in the world of Martial arts? Bruce Lee, if I may say so. He died 50 years ago! Kung Fu is slowly becoming a lost art, while MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world, why? because they never try to make a name for themselves, only dancing around to celebrate like this guy in the vid did. It's pathetic
@TheMartialartsJedi Okay you can walk on water, you can fly... But that wont change the fact that most MMA fighters would beat kung fu masters with ease

Hmmm, interesting. Today at Kowloon Park, the style featured was Hop Gar. It appears as though a different style is performed in the park every week.
In any case, anyone know of any Hung Gar schools in Hong Kong? Would love to do this style myself.
