New archtop guitar

Here's my latest guitar. It's a fully carved 17" archtop hand built by me. The audio quality is pretty terrible. I couldn't keep the mic in my laptop from peaking. However, the general character of the guitar comes through. Also, I'm sorry for all the squeaks I don't usually use round-wound strings but that's what I had on hand. Let me know how you think it sounds or if you want want to buy it ;)

I wouldn't say that they sound better with flats it's just my preference. Some people like the brighter sound of round-wounds. I just happen to prefer flats. The chords I played are the first eight bars of a tune called "I Want To Turn Out My Light" and the first melody I play is the head to that tune. The last bit is the first couple of bars of "Mean To Me"

oh man, looks sweet. seems like sounds good too (although such a guitar deserves to be recorded with a better mic). I think i'd buy it.

do archtops really sound better with flatwound strings?

..and could you please tell me the names of those melodies you played, cause they're sweet.
