I think it's about John and alcoholism. Not sure though. He explained it in an interview by saying it was a sad and dark time in his life when he wrote Misery. "Lookin' for misery but she found me, lyin' naked on the floor" is basically saying how vulnerable he was to depression and how it could just take him in and he couldn't fight it.
