I do not own any of the music in this video.

This track is used in the robot dance scene where Rotwang presents the robot to the public to show Jon Frederson that the robot is convincing as the real girl whose face he used...who the workers trust and follow. That's what the robot dance was all about.
From what I read Metropolis was one of Freddie Mercury's favourite Movies, I am now very familiar with it myself. The first time I ever saw it and the reason why I watched it was because of the song "Love Kills" sung by Freddie Mercury, which featured in the movie, and also the fact that some of the film was used in Queen's music video Radio Ga Ga.
But The song "Love Kills" was a collaboration with Giorgio Moroder, who has actually made this old silent a bit more interesting with his amazing musical compositions and pop singers of the time, like Bonnie Tyler and Adam Ant. Giorgio Moroder who is responsible for lots of great film music, the most notable to me anyway is the midnight Express score and Scarface score, a superb musician.
Metropolis, a film that was made in 1926, probably one of the first ever science fiction movies ever made, with visual effects that were definitely way ahead of its time. The robots transformation scene is still stunning to this day....which was also used in Queen's music video Radio Ga Ga, using all the band members faces on top of the face of the robot. Also Freddie can be seen moving the hands of the clock to the lights in the music video, mimicking the scene in Metropolis where Freder does the very same thing.
After a long wait the Giorgio Moroder version is now being released on Blu ray later this month in America...I for one will be buying it...I already have the other version that was released on blu ray but I only have the Moroder one on laserdisc at the moment, so I am pretty excited to see and hear the new blu ray..aaaaah...WOOHOO!....YES!...YES!...YES!!!!...finally...FINE.....ALLY!..sorry, I just had to let that out, I am a bit excited.

  • @TriStarPictures82 Yes I like it too, I love the last sequence as well when Freder is fighting Rotwang on the rooftop of the Cathedral and the part just before that but you are right this is the best one.

Thanks for commenting, sorry for late response, I have been without the internet for about a week.
