I had the same idea about recreating Ole Hoss but did not realize this G50 was not the same as the ones made today. They no doubt will make the reproduction as a customer request item now, if parts can be found?

@AustinRogers1 I don't know if they will make any more after these are gone. I guess it would depend on materials, like you say.

I have not played the two brands you own but I've played a lot of brands. The first thing I look for is balance like you. If a guitar does not have that I don't go any further. My choice for the best balance is Larrivee I own the large sound hole D-60 and D-50 dreds which is the mahogany and rosewood models

@georyans I've heard good things about the D-50 and D-60. Yep, if I can play a guitar in our band and hear it, it might stay around the house. LOL

I noticed on your videos that at least play three brands of guitars a NGC, a Rockbridge and a Gallagher. I'll ask you what people often ask me ( which I find hard to answer) ..but I'll ask it anyway which guitar do you like the best and what your view on scalloped bracing vs non scalloped like the gallagher. (I have nine guitars and love them all)

@georyans In 2011 I added two D1A Collings guitars to my favorite list. My NGC has a 12 year head start, but the those Texas guitars sound great, too.

@d18dude Probably out of my price range even if they did. But I bet you could get one with different tuners. :)

Within the last month I played a few high end guitars the Bourgeois Slope D, A Collings D1A varnish, and a Collings D2A. They all had the same problem ..A too bright high end .. not balanced. I brought my Larrivee D10 Brazilian to AB test and it was no contest. I brought in the salesperson to do an AB test and he also said the Larrivee was the best sound

@georyans Good question....The Gallagher "Ol Hoss" was on loan, but I wish I owned it. I play the NGC the most, it's probably the best guitar I've ever owned. My Rockbridge mics great and has a great Gibson feeling neck, so I like it too. The NGC is scalloped and mahogany, so I guess I like that combination best. Actually, as long as they mic good in a band, I like them scalloped or unscalloped.
