@Fastjeff57 yea i have the same motor like that and it looks like it to. And just got a new power pack put in it. but runs great now and yea you can put a 15pitch prop on it and it will go way faster

I have the identical motor on a 13 foot ski boat and it pushing me at about 55 MPH on the GPS. wicked fast hole shot too... these brown bands have tons of power all the way through the power band.... unreal

in the mid 80's mercury changed to brown colour bands around the motors instead of the traditional blue, the "brown bands" are known as being very good engines

we bowfish out of this boat and when its me 2 other people, gennerator and a boat load of fish that 12 pitch prop does a great job
