Does anyone have more info on Pete Sampras' and the Williams Sisters relationship? Early in their careers, Venus and Serena always claimed that Pete was their idol, etc.
But then in the mid 2000s, I read that Pete replied to a comment (referencing Venus' service motion was similar to his)...he said it was an insult.
Ever since then you haven't heard WS claim Pete as their hero, though they have always said good things about him. But then again, I guess they became legends as well.

OMG! I thought it was just me and my mom who thought Men's tennis was WAAAAAAY more boring than the women's.... in the women's game you had attitude... sometimes you'd have drama. Nothing like female drama.
But AT THE TIME men's tennis was pretty boring to me.. ESPECIALLY compared to nowadays. I was SO glad to FINALLY get into men's tennis when Roger started being a big star and Nadal came into the game.

Then Maria Sharapova enters the tennis world & the people & media all looked in awe & disbelief to see a stunningly beautiful, tall, lean, slim, blond woman who could play tennis. Definitely, "Midleground" won't be calling her a gorilla.

This girl (including her sisters) are LEGENDS. They are the best thing to EVER hit the WTA...everyone else is burning out while these girls pursue other interest and STILL win grand slams. What can I say..the girs are BAD!!!! Much love to Venus, Serena and the Williams family. Proud of ya'll for representing not only America, but definately your African American brothas and sistas on the court.

I watched this interview many many times, I couldn't get enouth of it. Beautiful, brilliant and humble girl just to say the least. Great inspiration and role model for ppl like my daughter.
