When she says "editing can slow down time... or speed it up," a clip from raging bull is playing. Actually, in this clip it was the frame rate, not the editing that manufactured this effect. Perhaps I'm being over-critical here... I nonetheless this this is a great program.

Yes, it is the frame rate that achieves the visual effect of slow motion. But keep it mind, it was the editors choice to use this clip at that moment to create such impact. The director probably shot it at both a faster frame rate (typically 60fps) and the normal 24fps, and the editor chose when and how to use it. So while I don't think you're being over critical, I do the think that the editor is more responsible for creating moments than we sometimes give them credit for!

Thankyou so much for uploading this! Im a college student and my Film class has ended for the year, which is terrible for me because I just want to keep learning. So i really appreciate these videos! They're fascinating -> and jam packed full of lengendary directors! :D
