The original Natick Mall in Natick, MA just as demolition was beginning in June, 1993. Sorry about the sometimes goofy commentary.

  • For some perspective, the new Sears was built right next to the old Sears. Woolworth's was on the north side of the mall - probably near where that brand new section of the mall is now.

  • Across from the Old Office.....not off, lol! We had a good group of Natick Kids working in the old Food Court. Me, (Jeff Roche), Joe Pocher(now Dr. Pocher at Natick Animal Clinic), Joe Steele, Mark Caferelli, Gary Byrne, Eric Mackey( Famous Artist in New York), Mark Kinchla( now a Doctor of Psychology), Dan Purcell, Jeff(sister Colleen), Al Popkin, Mark Tomesetti, Rob Steele, PJ Brown, to name a few. We had some fun. Does anyone remember" Bill the Gook", owner of Charlie Cheng of California.

  • In talking with some old friends I worked with in the old Food Court circa 1983-1987, They said there is One old wall that was keptin the new mall. The wall was part of an old closet that was across from the old off and behind the old Barber Bros. Florist that was next to the fountain. Has anyone ever seen this wall? It was kept for posterity sake evidently. Whats old is New again. I miss those old days. Charlie( the female) and Bud chasing the old mall rats on Saturday afternoon. GOOD OLE DAYS!

  • what a trip

  • @robkb1fjr You couldnt be more right about nightmarish parking. The dome was something to see because it just stuck out coming from a distance on Route 9. It was neat to look at. Things change, for better or for worse. I spent many days at that mall and I have never found a mall that I enjoyed as much as that. Of course, being older, malls are not exactly a hangout for me anymore lol. Christmas at the old mall was very special. They decorated that place so well and the music was great.

  • @ashland1977 The new "Shopper's World" was the first of a Lifestyle open air plaza center.... I used to think the new "Shopper's World" was horrible... until I saw the shops at Blackstone Vallley and Legacy Place in Dedham... a nightmare to find parking and access is hard.

My main memory of Shopper's World was the playground in the middle of the mall and the domed Jordan Marsh which I was in very shortly before they tore down the mall. The dome was beautiful...

  • Did Family Guy bring anyone here?

  • @8122556 wow I went to Lincoln Street and have pictures of the school.

  • I miss the old Shoppers World. For anyone who didnt grow up with it, you had to be there. It was a different time and a different atmosphere. Shopping on Route 9 in the 1980s was actually relaxing. It had a charm that was lost, replaced with something that seem empty.

  • In the rare chance that I become a Multi-Billionaire, I'm going to buy Natick Mall and Shoppers World, tear them down and rebuild them like they were in the 80's. I'll also bring back Wonder Bread. Hell, I'll buy Fun and Games as well and turn in back into a real arcade.

  • In the 1980's I did a lot of growing up in the Shopper's World and Natick Mall.

This video is such an unexpected surprise. Thanks for uploading....
