As far as I'm concerned. It looked like an Indy film, it sounded like an Indy film, and it felt like one. My grandson (8at the time)whooped and bounced on his seat through the whole thing. Much like I did when I went to see Raiders when it first came out (12 at the time;) ). Which in my book means it did what it was meant to. It entertained.

actually, the alien theme was perfect for the time period. the fiftees = the cold war and the Red scare ,threat of nuclear war, Roswell, the beginning of hippie culture, intense interest in freud, and alien technology...i think the problem was that the plot was TOO ambitious, especially adding the mayas.

was disappointed w/ this movie, expected a little better ending than ALIENS...

LOL, cant really compare the two; both in terms of acting skill and the role

Well obviously Spielberg doesn't agree with your opinion since he was the one who cast him. Seriouly Shia's a great actor, I don't know what people have against him b/c you can thing what you want. But ask yourself this, who would you rather have in this film Shia LaBeouf or Hilary Duff.
come on dude he was pretty kool in transformers, i think hes a pretty good addition to the movie
