Campbellford-area elementary and secondary students gathered at Campbellford District High School for their joint run on Wednesday September 28th.
Kent Public School students wore their school colours for the event which started at Campbellford District High School. St. Mary's Elementary School students carried a massive banner as they walked the route. Another participating Campbellford school, Hillcrest Public School, started their day with inspirational author Jan Thornhill.
Hillcrest staff ran in school jerseys and tutus, and principal Leslee Blair agreed to make the school's new elevator her office for a day if her students raise at least $1,800.
Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board students are walking, running or skipping their way through Terry Fox Run events. Organizers are hoping to exceed last year's total of $238,763.20 raised for the Terry Fox Foundation by schools Board-wide.
Most of this year's activities are taking place on or around the official Terry Fox National School Run Day, Wednesday, September 28.
