Separation of Church and state is about not favoring one religion over the other and not declaring nation-wide regulation of religious beliefs. As long as no religious expression infringes on anyone's rights to believe what they want then the government shouldn't and doesn't get involved. The unofficial Day of Reason that people created on the same day might become official if they went about it the right way, but they only use it to harass people celebrating prayer.

whether or not its a holiday is irrelevant, the government should stay clear of all religion. And if I were to flip it and say, lets advocate a national day of disbelief in God, do you honestly think that'll be accepted just like a national day of prayer? see it works well when you agree with the implementations, except it doesnt make it right. And i care about it being taught in school because its unscientific. If you want your child to learn the bible, go to church

I can understand where you're coming from, I know it's hard for someone who isn't religious to understand, just like it's hard for someone who is to explain (especially in 500 characters or less). For starters, there's a difference between the Old Covenant (Sabbath-killing thing) and the New Covenant (not that). I don't take offense to you not believing what I believe, truthfully I couldn't care less, but I wholly disagree with your statement that a person who believes in the Bible can be evil.

There is a National Day of Prayer, but it isn't a federal holiday and it doesn't require that everyone pray, it just encourages religious people (all religions) to take a moment to pray together as a community. There are no repercussions for people who aren't religious. I'm pro-gay marriage and pro-choice but I do think it is important to note that there are non-religious arguments against each of those. As for creationism, if you don't believe in it, what does it matter if they teach it or not?

Im not generalizing and saying 'all christians are bad', but Im stating how the bible contradicts itself. The 10 commandments include not killing, yet from the same book, it says to kill your neighbour for working on the sabbath. How is that not contradictory?

If you really cant see how then im actually quite surprised. Assuming you live in America, what about how they tried to have a national day of prayer? In my state in australia, abortions are not allowed, niether are gay marriages. And with religion and education, at the state school that I went to, they taught creationism every friday. Have I made my point?

I understood what you said and what I'm saying is that believing the Bible to be true also includes beliving in the Commandments which specifically state that murder is wrong and it means beliving in Christ's teachings of tolerance and kindness so your statement, I think, is ignorant and way too rigid because there's absolutely no correct way to take a group of people and reduce them all to one description.

I'm sorry, but I think you're proving MY point. Religion exists and yet gay people ARE getting married and women ARE having abortions and children ARE being taught about evolution. The government ISN'T endorsing religion and I imagine that no one is forcing religion on you because if they were we wouldn't be having this discussion. So how is religion impacting you except for the fact that you apparently like to study up on it and argue about it on youtube in your free time?
